The Council ignored its own District Plan in the 1980s; it had undertaken/promised to create a replacement IN CENTRAL CROYDON for the Scarbrook Road Baths which were demolished on safety grounds. That undertaking/promise was never fulfilled; the Water Palace wasn't in central Croydon and didn't meet the undertaking. What we neede - and still need - is a combined leisure pool (flumes, wave machine etc.) with a competition pool in which Croydon can welcome swimming clubs and host local and regional championships. We need a site in central Croydon convenient for public transport - oh, I know, wouldn't the Gateway Site be ideal?
