Creating debates, comments and videos
Once you’ve logged in, you can get involved in the site properly by creating your own content.
Start a debate A debate is a space on the site for discussing what you care about. You can start a debate on any topic you want, usually something that you think is good or bad about Croydon.
Post a comment Comments are your personal responses to debates and other people’s comments and videos. You can add comments to any debate by clicking “Add a comment”. Give your comment a nice short title, and keep it brief so more people want to read it!
Upload a video It’s not all about words. If you want to show people what’s happening instead, you can upload your own videos to any debate too. You can add videos from YouTube, MySpace and blip.tv. To add a video to the debate, simply paste the web address of the video to 'video' textbox when you create a new debate.
IMPORTANT: For your safety, please do not post videos which show you, your friends, where you live or which school you go to.
Showing support
The other way to get involved in debates is to click the vote icon (green '+' button). This adds you to the list of people who think this issue is important. The more supporters a debate has, the more likely it is to be read by people, and acted on by the local authorities. Show your support for all the things that matter to you by clicking “Involve me” on anything you agree with.
You can also show support for particular comments and videos by clicking the '+' buttons.
